one thing i haven’t seen the redditors doing is setting up a joke with an ambiguous or unknown punchline. like, you lay a post as a trap and wait for somebody else to walk by and find it irresistable to add the punchline. in most cases, it is not the one you were setting up. this has been, in my experience, how most of the good sausage is made *incorrect buzzer noise* uh. how the cookie tumbls *incorrect buzzer noise* huh… rude. who keeps doing that?

not sure if this is just coincidental or regional, but i feel like i haven’t seen an orange monarch butterfly in years. i’ve seen several yellow ones in the past few days, and one that might have been an orange monarch, but i only caught a glimpse of it from a distance, the markings didn’t seem exactly right and it was too small (i’m not sure i understand the butterfly life cycle but i thought they emerged from the chrysalis at full size and didn’t continue growing). or i guess the yellow ones i’m seeing might not be monarchs at all (swallowtails maybe) but that doesn’t change the absence of monarchs, which i feel like i used to see every year. i’m not exactly in the area where i used to see them, so who knows
